The Native Series holds a distinctive place in Indrani Singh Cassime’s body of work, reflecting her long-standing interest in diverse viewpoints, cultural intersections, and multiplicity of perspective.

Created between 2018 and 2025 from native clay sourced directly from Ousteri Lake—minutes from her studio—these pieces represent the last use of this now-unavailable material. Working in this direct, place-bound way revives an ancient practice in which the local earth becomes inseparable from the final form, lending the works a rare immediacy and authenticity.  

A nature-inspired sculpture, drawing from the surrounding environment of Auroville and Puducherry. The local birds—their sudden garden visits, songs, and playful flights—remind us of humanity’s deep, timeless bond with nature.
