Indrani Singh Cassime, Memory Boat

PRICE UPON REQUEST

Memory Boat is a monumental sculptural work encouraging viewers to move around it and engage from multiple perspectives. Its form responds to light and shadows, producing visual variations that reward sustained observation.

The Artist examines the mechanisms of memory—how experiences are retained, layered, and carried forward over time. The sculpture functions as a conceptual container, holding both significant and incidental memories and acknowledging their collective influence on the present. In this sense, the vessel operates as an abstract archive: a structure for accumulation, preservation, and continuity.

Inspired by the Coromandel Coast with its endless ocean and expansive horizon, this piece invites contemplation while retaining the material-focused presence characteristic of contemporary monumental sculpture.
