Indrani Singh Cassime, Coral Console

PRICE UPON REQUEST

In the Coral Console, Indrani translates the silent, skeletal architecture of the reef into the permanence of fired earth. Moving beyond a literal representation of marine life, the work captures the structural logic of accretion—the way distinct, calcified elements accumulate to form a unified, biomorphic mass.

Fired in the Anagama kiln, the piece undergoes a “thermal erosion” that mirrors the forces of the ocean. The wood ash melts and settles into the object’s porous, complex topography, creating a surface that feels excavated rather than sculpted. It is a fossilized moment of growth, bringing the hidden, submerged architecture of the seabed into the solidified realm of the domestic space.
